KCSO, CPD: relatively 'quiet' New Year's weekend

New Year’s weekend turned out to be a relatively quiet one, according to the heads of the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) and Camden Police Department (CPD). Sheriff Jim Matthews said his deputies -- as part of the multi-agency Community Action for a Safer Tomorrow (CAST) coalition -- arrested five people for driving under the influence (DUI). Matthews said CAST team included his office, the S.C. Highway Patrol, Elgin Police Department and the law enforcement arm of the S.C. Forestry Commission.
