A North Carolina man remains in the Kershaw County Detention Center facing several charges after he allegedly assaulted a Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office deputy during a traffic stop Tuesday. According to a KCSO press release, Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies, assisted by Richland County Sheriff’s Department deputies, arrested Rico Levern Ross, 32, of Raleigh, N.C. and charged him with speeding 105mph in 70mph zone, driving under suspension, open container, failure to stop for a blue light, assault and battery (2nd degree) and resisting arrest. “Ross is a documented thug who has served time in prison for armed robbery,” Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews stated in the press release.
