The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of their own: Mali, a K9 narcotics dog. In May 2016 a KCSO deputy who was the K9 handler for Mali, a German shepherd trained in the detection of illegal narcotics, noticed that the dog had become lethargic for no apparent reason, according to a KCSO press release. Mali was taken to a local veterinarian who diagnosed her condition as a rare intestinal disorder.
