The family of a man who died in 2011 after being arrested by the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office recently filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO). The suit, filed May 24, alleges that the actions of Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews and his deputies, led to the death of David Lynn Tyler on May 27, 2011. The suit names the KCSO, Matthews, Chief Deputy Marvin Brown and deputies Brooks Houser, Brian Morris, Andy Watts and Lee Young as defendants.
