The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is seeking the whereabouts of a man they said eluded deputies after “launching” the late model Chevrolet Camaro he was driving into a creek near Old English Road in the southern part of the Lugoff-Elgin area. According to a KCSO press release, a deputy patrolling U.S. 601 South saw the Camaro being driven at a high rate of speed around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The deputy activated his radar and determined the Camaro was traveling at 72 mph in a 55 mph speed limit zone.
