(WBT) tractor trailer early Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Whitehead Road in Lugoff. LF-R Chief Dennis Ray said Engine 10 was responding -- with lights and sirens -- to a woods fire in Elgin when the collision occurred. Lugoff Fire-Rescue (LF-R) Engine 10 might be a total loss following a collision with a tractor trailer on U.S. 1 in Lugoff early Wednesday afternoon. The collision happened at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday as Engine 10 was responding to a woods fire near Elgin, according to LF-R Chief Dennis Ray. Ray said Engine 10 was backing up a brush unit from the Doby’s Mill Fire Department due to no response from the Blaney or Pine Grove volunteer fire departments.
