Lugoff Rescue-Fire (LF-R) Chief Dennis Ray had a big announcement for Kershaw County Council and county agency heads when they gathered Tuesday for a budget work session at the Kershaw County Economic Development Office. Effective Aug. 1, the LF-R’s ISO rating, set by the International Organization for Standardization, will drop from a Class 5 to Class 3. The 2-class drop should have a very positive impact on residential and business insurance rates, Ray said.
