A Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputy forced a vehicle off the road Tuesday following a chase after the driver, Zachary Zaccone, 36, of Jacobs Mill Pond Road, Elgin, was allegedly involved in a hit and run in Kershaw County. Deputies found Zaccone to be intoxicated and placed him in the Kershaw County Detention Center charging him with DUI, failure to stop for a blue light, leaving the scene of an accident and resisting arrest. In a press release, Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said an Elgin police officer asked for back up after responding to a vehicle in a ditch just outside the Elgin town limits.
