Man arrested after threatening officers with butcher knives

A day of drinking Sunday led to a man who allegedly threatened deputies with several butcher knives being shot with a non-lethal beanbag by a Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) captain. Kim J. Johnson, 53, of Oak Branch Lane, Elgin, was struck in the chest by the beanbag. He was transported to KershawHealth and then taken to the Kershaw County Detention Center, according to KCSO reports.
