Man arrested after two-hour standoff

Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies arrested a 32-year-old Elgin man Wednesday morning following a two-hour standoff at the man’s home. According to a KCSO incident report, deputies Jason Marsh, 32, of Chestnut Circle, Elgin, on one count each of pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I, II or III drug and possession of methamphetamine following the standoff. Sheriff Jim Matthews noted the standoff ended peacefully, with no one getting hurt.
