A single-vehicle collision on S.C. 34 between Gettys and Three Branches roads claimed the life of a Lugoff man early Saturday morning.

According to Kershaw County Coroner David West, Paul Travis Reynolds, 40, of Lugoff, died after his 2011 Toyota Tundra pickup went off the right side of the road while traveling west and hit a number of trees. West said Reynolds was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner said he estimated the time of the crash around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, but that Reynolds’ pickup truck wasn’t found until around 5 a.m.

“It was in a curve and it was dark and the truck was black,” West explained.
