A Rembert man was found dead in the cab of his tractor-trailer cab at the Black River Shell convenience store and gas station on Sumter Highway (U.S. 521) Tuesday afternoon. Kershaw County Coroner David West said in a press release that the death of Carlton Brooks, 49, of Rembert, is still being investigated by the Camden Police Department. “The 18-wheeler was parked in front of the gas station since Monday morning,” West said.
