Man, grandson arrested thanks to trail cam

Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) investigators arrested a 64-year-old Elgin man and his grandson for petit larceny after the pair allegedly broke into an unfinished home and stole a large number of power tools. According to a KCSO press release, investigators arrested Jimmy Laverne Arthur, of Country Lane South, Elgin and his grandson, Jeremy Thomas Arthur, 18, who was staying with him, around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The day before, the victim came to KCSO headquarters and reported the home he was building had been broken into and that a considerable number of his power tools were stolen.
