Man injured in accidental shooting

An Elgin man was in a Columbia hospital Friday being treated for a gunshot wound he suffered from an accidental shooting Thursday afternoon in Lugoff. Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said the 23-year-old victim was at a Yukon Court, Lugoff, home when the shooting took place. Another man living there began driving the victim to KershawHealth when they spotted a deputy around 2 p.m. According to a Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) report, Deputy Ross McCaskill was traveling on Wildwood Lane and as he approached Richardson Boulevard saw a black Chevy Tahoe stopped at the intersection.
