Man sentenced in 2009 fatal hit-and-run

A Dalzell man was sentenced Monday to 18 years in prison for hitting a vehicle on I-20 and leaving the scene of the accident which resulted in the death of an Elgin man in 2009. Alan A. Stuckey, 39 at the time of the accident, pleaded guilty at the Kershaw County Courthouse to felony driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident which resulted in death, according to S.C. Highway Patrol (SCHP) Senior Trooper Brent Kelly. The 18-year sentence was delivered by 5th Circuit Court Judge G. Thomas Cooper Jr. At approximately 9 p.m. March 19, 2009, 51-year-old Ronnie Humphries of Elgin was driving his 1991 Mitsubishi pickup truck eastbound on I-20 near mile marker 86.
