Man wanted in connection to Elgin store burglary

The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is seeking the public’s help in tracking down a man investigators say is responsible for burglarizing an Elgin store during a mandatory curfew Oct. 4 following the historic flood event. According to a KCSO press release, investigators have identified Christopher Corey Griggs, 34, who lived on Watson Drive in Elgin, as the suspect. Griggs allegedly broke into the C&M Market on U.S. 1 South in Elgin and stole cigarettes, lottery tickets and other items, including some money.
