Marijuana plants lead to arrest of 65-year-old man

One of 27 different high-quality cultivated marijuana plants found inside the Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, home of John Link. KCSO deputies arrested Link, 65, Thursday after finding the plants following two- to three-months of surveillance. Some of the plants are said to be 6 feet tall.
Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) narcotics investigators arrested a 65-year-old Lugoff man Thursday, charging him with manufacturing marijuana. According to a statement released by Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews, narcotics investigators raided the home of John Link, 65, of Ridgeway Road, arrested him after the discovery of a “very sophisticated” indoor marijuana grow. KCSO narcotics investigators had Link’s home under periodic surveillance during a two- to three-month period based on information he was growing marijuana.
