The manager of a Camden motel is among six people the Camden Police Department (CPD) served warrants for drug distribution. The manager and five others are all residents of the Mona Lisa Motel on West DeKalb Street, according to Chief Joe Floyd. According to CPD reports, officers served motel manager Felicia Renee Johnson, 34, who also lives at the motel, with three warrants for drug distribution in proximity of a school. Officers served the other five residents with warrants for drug distribution.

Officers served Johnson with a total of eight warrants for second offenses of distributing crack cocaine and distributing crack cocaine within proximity of a school or park. Johnson spent two days in jail, according to online court records.

As of Wednesday, Johnson was still employed as the manager at the motel. The C-I attempted to speak to the motel’s owner but was told he would not be available until after deadline Thursday.

Floyd said investigators conducted a background check on Johnson when they noticed increased drug activity at the motel. Johnson’s background check sent a red flag, he said.

According to a criminal background check obtained from the S.C. State Law Enforcement Division through the S.C. Press Association, Johnson has previously been convicted of shoplifting on five separate occasions and twice convicted of possession of marijuana and distribution of crack cocaine. She has been previously arrested for trafficking or distributing of crack cocaine more than 10 times, in addition to being arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Her record dates back to 1995.

On multiple occasions this year, an undercover agent working with the CPD was able to buy crack cocaine from several people living at the motel, including Johnson.

Officers also served warrants on:

• Demequo Perell Phillips, 23, of Camden -- 11 various warrants including distributing of crack cocaine and for distributing crack cocaine within proximity to a school

• Travanti Marshaun Jones, 21, of Camden -- eight various warrants including ones for second offenses of distributing crack cocaine and distributing crack cocaine within proximity of a school

• Christopher Dashai Cook, 20, of Camden -- two warrants each for distributing crack cocaine and distributing crack cocaine within proximity of a school

• Morgan Elizabeth Mills, 19, of Elgin -- one warrant for distributing crack cocaine

• Torrey Donte Scott, 35, of Camden -- one warrant each for distributing crack cocaine and distributing crack cocaine within proximity to a school/park

• Rashida Wiggins, 27, of Camden -- two warrants each for second offenses of distribution of cocaine and distribution of crack cocaine near a school

Floyd said there is one additional suspect for whom officers are still attempting to serve warrants.

The CPD stated that Cook, Phillips and Wiggins are still in jail.
