The Lugoff Fire District welcomed a new fire marshal to its ranks last summer, but he’s no stranger to Lugoff or to the fire service. Will Catoe is a Camden native and graduated from Camden High School in 1997, then immediately went into firefighting with Lugoff Fire-Rescue (LF-R). Catoe was a firefighter in Richland County for five years and also served at the University of South Carolina Fire Department, before being hired back at the LF-R as fire marshal, thanks to a tax millage increase approved by the Kershaw County Council in 2014.
