New officers named at Lugoff Fire Department
LFD promotions
Three Lugoff Fire Department firefighters -- (from left) Michael "Bud" Talley, Jody Morrow and Michael "Mhikey Stanfield -- earned the rank of lieutenant after a series of tests that included a written exam, a practical skill exam and a promotional interview, reported Lugoff Fire Chief Chief Dennis Ray (right).
The Lugoff Fire Department has promoted three firefighters -- Michael “Bud” Talley, Michael “Mhikey” Stanfield and Jody Morrow -- to the rank of lieutenant. The officers accepted the promotion and additional responsibility in title only without additional pay due to the current economic limitations on budgeting,” said LFD Chief Dennis Ray. The lieutenants will be responsible for the proper coordination of interior firefighting operations as well as serving as relief shift leader among other leadership duties in the department.
