Dennis Ray, who has led Lugoff Fire-Rescue (LF-R) since June 2010, will leave the agency to become the new superintendent of the S.C. Fire Academy and, thus, the chief of firefighting training for the state. Ray will also become the assistant state fire marshal for South Carolina. His last day with the LF-R will be Nov. 27.
