A Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) report reveals the man who drowned after his car was washed away off Pine Grove Road at Twenty-Five Mile Creek in Lugoff on Oct. 4 was driving the vehicle, not a female relative as first reported. McArthur Woods, 56, of Fort Jackson Road, Lugoff, drowned inside the small sedan after trying to go over a bridge at Twenty-Five Mile Creek and got swept into a ravine created by a 120-foot section of washed out road. Officials whose personnel worked the accident scene indicated the morning of Oct. 5 it was their understanding the female relative was the driver of the vehicle.
