On September 8, 2016 the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office arrested Liquel Bryant Robinson, 19, of Camden and charged him with attempted murder after he allegedly shot Sean Major, also of Camden. “This entire incident challenges the popular notion that drug dealing is not a violent crime when it is quite obvious that it leads to violence on a daily basis as in this case,” Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said in a press release. According to the press release, on August 21, Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting call on Kings Avenue and Old River Road in Camden in which the victim, Sean Major, was shot in the back with a 9mm handgun.
