The Camden Police Department (CPD) arrested an 18-year-old Camden High School (CHS) student Feb. 10 for bringing a loaded gun on campus. According to a CPD report, officers arrested Johnquevious “Jay” Dashon-James Johnston, 18, of Chesnut Street, after an officer received information Johnson had brought the gun to school with him the day before. The officer contacted school officials Feb. 10, who reacted quickly, according to Kershaw County School District Director of Communications Mary Anne Byrd, by sequestering Johnston and performing a search during which they located the handgun.
