Subjects connected to Kirkland murder arrested in new case
Search Warrant on House
C-I Web Extra: Kershaw County Sheriff's Office units sit in front and near a house on Smyrna Road in the Elgin area while deputies execute a search warrant on Wednesday following an alleged shooting incident the day before. On Tuesday, deputies arrested a man who claimed to have fired in self-defense at people in the front yard, ending up striking a woman in the arm at a neighboring home. On Wednesday, deputies arrested three people at the home on weapon and drug charges. In addition, Sheriff Lee Boan disclosed that this is the same house -- but involving a different set of suspects -- where a man was arrested for human trafficking in February 2020. Several people connected to the subjects accused of the fatal May 10 shooting of 19-year Dashaun Kirkland at the U.S. 601 gas station where he worked, as well as a man who shot at the subjects in self-defense have all been arrested and charged in connection with another shooting incident in the Elgin area. The new incident left a woman living next door to crime scene with a non-fatal gunshot injury.
