The Sumter County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) arrested a 21-year-old Sumter man believed to be connected with the Jan. 27 shooting death of 65-year-old Johnny Singleton of Camden. Authorities found Singleton dead in his car along U.S. 521 near Rembert, initially thinking he may have died from injuries sustained in a crash. SCSO deputies arrested Matthew Cory Dwyer without incident at his home Wednesday night on charges of murder and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.
