Toddler found safe; DSS called in
Elgin toddler Tyler Jacobson found safe after missing nearly 12 hours
A 22-month-old boy who was missing for nearly 12 hours in Elgin was found Saturday morning around 8 a.m. with his Labrador mix dog next to him, said Sheriff Jim Matthews. Matthews speculated the dog may have nestled next to the boy, Tyler Jacobson, who was dressed in a T-shirt and diaper, and kept him warm enough to survive Friday night, when temperatures dipped into the 30s. The boy’s mother, Jacklyn Marie Jacobson, and her boyfriend, Jose Gloria, were watching television at their Ashley Creek Drive home when the boy went to get some juice, Matthews said, and didn’t come back to the bedroom.
