A routine driver’s license check by the newly formed Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office traffic unit netted the arrest of a Columbia man believed to supply contraband tobacco and cell phones to prison inmates. Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said that while the unit was patrolling I-20 Saturday, officers conducted a traffic stop on Reco Maurice Bell of Columbia. A routine driver’s license check indicated Bell was driving under suspension and operating an uninsured vehicle.
