Two charged with trafficking, child neglect after motel room raid

A Camden man and his common-law spouse, both 23, were arrested and charged with trafficking crack cocaine, simple possession of marijuana and three counts of child neglect after Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) narcotics agents raided a West DeKalb Street motel in Camden. Dexter Alex Drakeford and Shameka Lecole Demeary, both of the same Gordon Street, Camden, address were arrested around 8:45 p.m. Thursday. According to information from Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews, KCSO narcotics investigators began focusing their efforts on the Mona Lisa Motel after receiving numerous complaints from local citizens.
