Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies arrested a 46-year-old Lugoff woman Tuesday after she allegedly left a 16-month-old boy and a dog unattended in her vehicle while she shopped for groceries. According to a KCSO press release, deputies arrested Melony Peters, charging her with child neglect. “This should be a lesson to anyone, a parent or custodian of a child, that if you get caught leaving a baby, unattended in a hot car while you shop, you will go to jail,” Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said in the press release.
