Arbor Day celebrated at MSC
Montessori Arbor Day 3
Continuing its mission to plant indigenous species of trees on its campus for botany studies, The Montessori School of Camden observed Arbor Day with the planting of a dogwood.
In honor of Arbor Day, the children and staff of The Montessori School of Camden (MSC) celebrated, in a small ceremony, by planting a tree and enjoying a poem recited by the Lower Elementary children (ages 9-12) entitled “Trees” by Alfred Joyce Kilmer. Friends of the MSC community have assisted in the collection of species for the campus. This year the Arbor Day Committee chose to re-plant a stellar pink Flowering Dogwood (Cornus florida x Cornus kousa) that died a year ago.
