ATEC students attend FFA legislators appreciation day

Applied Technology Education Campus (ATEC) agriculture students attended the annual FFA State Legislators Appreciation Day in Columbia Feb. 22 as part of National FFA Week which is celebrated the week of George Washington’s birthday. The students, accompanied by ATEC agriculture instructor and FFA advisor Katie Gilson, began the day by visiting with Sen. Vincent Sheheen and Rep. Laurie Slade Funderburk and were introduced to members of the House and Senate. Following the visits, the students join other FFA members and advisors from throughout South Carolina on the north steps of the State House for a special recognition ceremony conducted by state FFA officers.
