Camden High School has been recognized by the S.C. Department of Education with a Palmetto Silver award for closing the achievement gap in 2010. In its 10th year, the Palmetto Gold and Palmetto Silver awards program was created by the South Carolina General Assembly to recognize schools that attained high levels of absolute performance, high rates of growth and substantial progress in closing achievement gaps between groups of students. “I greatly applaud Camden High’s efforts to improve the academic performance of all of its students, and especially those in historically lower performing groups,” said Kershaw County School District.
