CMS wins 17 awards at the regional science fair

Camden Middle School students won numerous awards at the Regional Science Fair. The winners were (back row) Heather Woolard, Stephanie Areford, Margaret Knight, Faith Grant, Micah Smith, Maria Hancock, Sophia Altieri, Veareeaunna Harris, (front row) Spencer Hann, Ryan Dabbs and Kyle Cassidy.
Eleven students from Camden Middle School won a total of seventeen awards at the Regional Science Fair. The winners are as follows -- Heather Woolard won second place for Best of Medical Science; Stephanie Areford won for Outstanding Achievement in Biology and best of seventh grade Top Ten; Margaret Knight won the Young Scientist award for Best in Research; Faith Grant won for Best of eighth grade Top Ten; Micah Smith won the Soil and Conservation award; Maria Hancock won the Honorable Mention South Carolina Academy of Science award; Sophia Altieri won third place in Chemistry and Best of seventh grade Top Ten; Veareeaunna Harris won Women in Engineering and Computing Award and Best of seventh grade Top Ten; Spencer Hann won Outstanding Achievement in Biology; Ryan Dabbs won Honorable Mention in Biological Sciences, the Honorable Mention SC Academy of Science award, Best of seventh grade Top Ten and third Place in Best of seventh grade and Kyle Cassidy won the US Metric Association Award. The school is extremely proud of its students who represented Camden Middle School in this prestigious academic competition.
