Construction, sales referenda move forward

Voters will have another chance to say “Yes” or “No” in November to a pair of referenda on construction projects being proposed by the Kershaw County School District (KCSD) and whether or not to offset a resulting millage increase with a 1-cent sales tax. During a lightly attended Kershaw County Board of School Trustees meeting Tuesday night at Midway Elementary School, members voted twice, 8-1 each time, to craft the referenda. The lone “No” vote in each case came from Trustee Kim Horton DuRant.
