Fingerprints were lifted, DNA extracted and matched, blood tested at Pine Tree Hill Elementary School (PTHS). White coats filled Nicole Ritchie’s science classroom under the direction of Patty Stegura of Stegura Science, in a blue hat labeled CSI with a badge gleaming from her neck. On three days in January, fifth-graders at PTHS got to put their forensic science skills to use while learning how to conduct a crime scene investigation.
