DMES named School of Character finalist
Dobys Mill
Students in Abby Anthonys kindergarten class at Dobys Mill Elementary showed good character when they sent 100 hugs and kisses to KershawHealth patients in celebration of the hospitals 100th anniversary.
Doby’s Mill Elementary School is one of 35 schools across the United States to be named a 2013 national School of Character finalist. According to the Character Education Partnership, the finalists were selected from an applicant pool of 131 schools and districts based on the quality of their written applications. “Since opening in 2002, character education has been the integral component of our curriculum,” Doby’s Mill Elementary School Principal Ginger Catoe said.
