A team of Doby’s Mill Elementary School students won the gold in the Kershaw County School District’s (KCSD) first-ever quiz bowl for 4th and 5th graders. The district, which already has middle and high school students competing in tournaments which culminate in state-level competitions, created the intra-district elementary school quiz bowl to emphasize the importance of academic success and to provide a competitive and collaborative opportunity for our students, according to KCSD Executive Director Instructional Support Programs Dr. Alisa Taylor. “This year is the first for what we hope will be an annual KCSD Elementary Academic Quiz Bowl Competition,” Taylor said.
