Saturday is Earth Day in Kershaw County as a planting event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at Hardscramble Preserve, 271 Chestnut Ferry Road in Camden.

During the family-friendly event, participants will be able to celebrate the planet and their community by planting saplings and seeds at the preserve.

Harscramble Preserve and its Nature as Teacher program are funded by the The Margaret H. Lloyd SmartState Endowment at Clemson University.
