The Kershaw County Board of School Trustees voted Tuesday -- among other firms for other projects -- to hire Contract Construction Inc. to build the new school along with a new Wateree Elementary School. Kershaw County School District (KCSD) Director of Communications Mary Anne Byrd said the board and district have not yet decided if the new Lugoff school will be two stories. KCSD Executive Director of Operations Billy Smith said, however, the option is the most liked by LES stakeholders. - photo by Provided by the KCSD
The Kershaw County Board of School Trustees approved the selection of five construction management at risk firms to work on 11 different projects on a list and funded by a penny sales tax voters by referenda in November’s general election. Following an executive session at the end of Tuesday night’s board meeting, members unanimously approved Trustee Todd McDonald’s motion to award the five contracts. Contract Construction Inc., with offices in Irmo and Ballentine, will build the new Lugoff and Wateree elementary schools.
