Home school, charter school and Governor’s school students are now eligible to participate in public school sports and extracurricular activities during the 2012-2013 school year. Under the “Equal Access to Interscholastic Activities Act” approved by the state in June, eligible first-grade through sixth-grade students enrolled in home schools, charter schools and Governor’s schools can participate in interscholastic and extracurricular activities. Such activities are defined as activities where one school competes against another.
