Taking care of safety-related issues at Kershaw County School District (KCSD) athletic facilities could cost nearly $2 million, according to KCSD Executive Director of Operations Billy Smith. Smith presented estimates to perform safety-related upgrades at Camden, Lugoff-Elgin and North Central high schools’ stadiums to the Kershaw County Board of Trustees during its meeting Tuesday. Nearly half of the $2 million figure -- $950,000 -- would go to upgrading Camden High School’s (CHS) Zemp Stadium.
