The Kershaw County School District (KCSD) received a “B” in ratings released Friday by the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) as a part of a new federal accountability rating system. The federal accountability system was created as part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (also known as No Child Left Behind) and replaces Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). AYP required school districts to meet every objective and graded on a pass or fail basis.
