KCSD may bring back referenda in 2016
Would remove athletic component, but likely still close some schools

It’s not a done deal, but there appeared to be consensus Tuesday night among members of the Kershaw County Board of School Trustees to bring a pair of construction-related referenda back to voters in November 2016. If trustees ultimately do so, athletic improvements could be taken out of the equation, but still lead to some schools being closed for consolidation. Just four months ago, voters rejected a referendum for the Kershaw County School District (KCSD) to issue $130 million in bonds for a list of proposed renovation and construction projects.
