The third time is a charm as much as the first and second ones. After being the first school in the state to be named a recipient of the national "School to Watch" award in 2007, Lugoff-Elgin Middle School (L-EMS) has been recertified for the honor a second time. Sponsored by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform, Schools to Watch have outstanding academic excellence, developmental responsiveness, social equity and organizational structure.
