L-EMS briefly locked down

An “unfounded rumor” caused Lugoff-Elgin Middle School (L-EMS) to go into “limited lockdown” yesterday morning after a parent said that there was a gun at the school in a Facebook post. L-EMS Principal Karen Bullard sent a message to L-EMS and Kershaw County School District (KCSD) personnel, as well as L-EMS parents, notifying them that the school went into lockdown while investigating the vague post that there was a gun at the school. “The rumor was determined to be completely unfounded,” Bullard said in her email.
