L-EMS’ Tracy Elmore is S.C. STEM Educator of the Year
STEM Parade 1
Lugoff-Elgin Middle School (L-EMS) teacher Tracy Elmore (right) waves from the back of a convertible in front of her home in the Pepper Ridge subdivision at the beginning of a parade on Tuesday afternoon in her honor for being named the S.C. STEM Educator of the Year. About 15 L-EMS staff and administrators joined in the parade to honor Elmore as it snaked through her neighborhood, which is just across U.S. 1 from the school. (Martin L. Tracy Elmore was surprised for the second day in a row Tuesday afternoon. About 24 hours earlier, on Monday Elmore -- a science teacher at Lugoff-Elgin Middle School (L-EMS) -- was surprised by a crowd of people who showed up during a livestreamed announcement that she had been named the S.C. STEM Educator of the Year by SC Future Minds, Comporium, S2TEM Centers SC and Dominion Energy.
