Hundreds of athletes, coaches, parents, supporters and others took a break from a wrestling tournament at Lugoff-Elgin Middle School (L-EMS) on Saturday morning to remember Rob Evans as more than a Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputy. The KCSO donated Evans’ uniform -- set into a glass-covered frame -- to L-EMS where he served as a school resource officer (SRO) for seven years. Evans died suddenly in Nov. 2013 while directing traffic along U.S. 1 South outside the school.
