Lessons for life
Midway Elem-Teacher Deputy Cobb.JPG

On Tuesdays at Midway Elementary School, second-grade classes are often found being led by a special instructor. Kershaw County Deputy Mechelle Cobb enriches the students' usual social studies lessons with instruction on the importance of law enforcement in the community and strategies for dealing with conflict and bullying. Cobb also serves as a mentor for students. She works with students YaKeem Knox, MaKhi Holmes, Summer Martin and Matty Stephens. Cobb and students Summer Martin, Yakeem Knox and Chris Crane visit with K-9 deputy Hailey and Lt. Ty Cobb.
