Local SAT average rises 17 points

Kershaw County seniors’ SAT average composite score jumped 17 points to outperform the state composite score, tying for the 21st-highest score among South Carolina school districts. Class of 2010 local seniors’ average score was 1,453 compared to last year’s average composite score of 1436. The state’s average composite score for public high school seniors decreased two points to 1,443 while the national average composite rose three points to 1497.
